These birds were seen on several trips to India: with Naturetrek in 2007 to Kanha, Bandhavgarh and Ranthambhor tiger reserves, and more recently in 2012 to Kaziranga in Assam along the Brahmaputra River in search of the Greater One-horned Rhinoceros. We found the mammals but also had a great time seeing and photographing India's incredible birds. We went with Greentours to Kerela in 2008 where we visited Periyar and Eravikulam National Parks, and spent a few wonderful days drifting slowly around the Kerelan Backwaters with their prolific birdlife.
