Another fascinating bird for me: the enigmatic and distinctive wader found in the mountainous regions of Central Asia. It has a specialised habitat requirement of the slower, flatter parts of highland rivers and nests on the shingle areas. We found these 3 birds at the confluence of two rivers. 1 genus, 1 species, 1 taxon, placed between Oystercatchers and Stilts and Avocets.
